This visa allows people between the ages of 18 to 30 have a holiday for an extended period of time in Australia whilst being able to work in certain industries to support their stay. Applicants are able to apply for their Second and Third Work and Holiday Visa after their first expires, subject to completing specified work. Each Work and Holiday Visa allows the applicant to stay for a period of 12 months from the date of grant.

Subsequently, you will be able to apply from onshore or offshore for the Second and Third Work and Holiday Visa. However, if you apply onshore, you must be in Australia at the time of the Departments decision. Similarly, if you apply offshore, you must be outside Australia when a decision is made.
The visa is unique in that it allows you limited working and study rights, therefore you will have access to a broader range of experiences whilst on your holiday or work experience.

This visa does not permit the applicant to work in Australia, undertake study or social security benefits.
In some cases, a monetary bond to the Department is required from the applicant’s Australian citizen (or permanent resident) family member/s to show your intention to return to your home country.
